Egmont UK Appoints New Group Sales Director

London, February 2008: Egmont UK today announced that Gillian Laskier is taking up the role of Group Sales Director at Egmont UK, a specialist publishing company that creates engaging products for children.Gillian will start at Egmont UK on 3rd March 2008, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in the children's market. She will be responsible for heading up a UK & International sales team of 25 at Egmont UK and leading customer relations worldwide. She will report directly to Rob McMenemy, Senior VP and UK Managing Director of Egmont UK. "Over the last four years our Children's Books division has grown constantly, through the continued development of our character business and the expansion of our fiction and picture lists. Gillian is just the person to continue this impressive growth and help realize our ambitions." Most recently Gillian launched Tree Top Media, a Children's Media Company. As Chief Executive she led the company to publish over 20 different children's titles in 3 years. Previous to this Gillian was at BBC Worldwide for over 13 years where she held many roles within the children and families group, including Publisher Director of BBC Magazines, and Divisional Director of UK Family Group at BBC Worldwide. Gillian's appointment follows the relocation of Egmont UK's previous Sales Director, Douglas Pocock, to New York to launch Egmont US. Insert a few more details on Egmont US and activity.
