Rare Victorian Lifestyle Book Is The First Lads' Mag

A rare book from Victorian times has revealed how image-conscious young men soaked up lifestyle advice from the grandfather of all lads' mags.

The language might seem a trifle floral and the content might be a bit tame compared to those of modern-day successors like GQ, FHM, Nuts and Zoo.

But there can be little doubt that The Young Man's Own Book, published in London in 1832, was the original tome for dedicated followers of fashion.
