Press Release: Prizes and Awards
New Partnership For The Harry Bowling Prize

Posted at 2:44PM Friday 03 Jul 2009

We are delighted to announce that The Harry Bowling Prize will be awarded at the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Romantic Novelists' Association, to be held in London in February 2010. To mark this new and ongoing partnership with the RNA, The Harry Bowling Prize has been renamed The Harry Bowling Prize For New Writing.

2010 is also a significant anniversary for us, as the prize was launched in 2000, just a few months after the death of Harry Bowling, the bestselling novelist in whose memory the prize was launched and whose publisher Headline Publishers remains its generous sponsor. When considering submissions for the prize, we will be impressed by writers who are genuine storytellers, who entertain us with drama, romance and great characters, just as Harry Bowling did. Although all of Harry's novels were set in London , a new departure for our prize is that writers are now free to choose any urban setting for their novels.

Submissions are now being accepted for The Harry Bowling Prize For New Writing. The deadline is 30th November 2009 and both the rules and entry form can be found on www.HarryBowlingPrize.net . (Please note that the deadline for submissions advised by the website is incorrect. )
