Harvill Secker to celebrate 100 years of

'International Writing with a Wayward Streak'

Publisher to mark centenary of extraordinary publishing with a year- long calendar of exciting events

From January through to December 2010, the Random House imprint Harvill Secker will be celebrating a centenary of publishing. Harvill Secker has published some of the most iconic and inspiring literary works of the last 100 years, bringing international writing from exceptional writers to the attention of British book buyers.

Events will include a day celebrating international writers at Foyles and a presence at all the major literary festivals. Goodie bags, giveaways, beautifully designed special editions and terrific competitions will be running alongside a high-profile media campaign making sure 2010 is a very special year for Harvill Secker.

Harvill Secker has an enviable list of current writers including Man Booker Prize 2009 shortlisted author J.M. Coetzee, Louis de Bernières, Günter Grass, Joseph O'Connor, Henning Mankell, Umberto Eco, José Saramago and Haruki Murakami. The list's literary heritage is a roll-call of some of the world's most important and ground-breaking writers including George Orwell, Colette, Boris Pasternak, Thomas Mann, Franz Kafka, Yukio Mishima, Mikhail Bulgakov, Vasily Grossman and Giuseppe Tomasi Di Lampedusa.

A definitive schedule for 2010 will be announced in January.
