Best-selling author Joanna Trollope has been given a lifetime achievement award for her services to romance at a ceremony in London.

Irish author Maeve Binchy was also honoured for promoting romantic fiction by the Romantic Novelists' Association (RNA) at the Pure Passion Awards.
