Amazon Launches UK Version Of Kindle

Posted at 6:14AM Thursday 29 Jul 2010

Amazon is to start selling its Kindle ebook reader in the UK. The company has announced that two new, lighter and smaller versions of the Kindle will go on sale on August 27, retailing at £109 for a Wi-Fi only version and £149 for a 3G wireless version.

Meanwhile Kindle 3 has been unveiled - smaller and lighter, and with a longer battery life than the previous model. Since these are the Kindle's key advantages versus Apple's iPad, the improvements further distinguish the two rival devices.
