Sara Holloway at Granta has acquired BREEDING by Justin Torres, a beautiful and electrifying first novel about the fierce love that binds a young family from New York - a Puerto Rican father, white American mother, and three inseparable brothers. Torres, who is 30 and a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, conveys brilliantly the violence and passion of family life, and the vulnerability and exuberance of children. Acquired at auction from Tracy Bohan at the Wylie Agency in a two book deal.
