Simon & Schuster UK Celebrate a Double No.1

Posted at 2:11PM Tuesday 24 Aug 2010

Simon & Schuster have achieved the No.1 spot on both the hardback fiction and the hardback non-fiction Bestseller charts this week. The top two titles are both new releases: The Red Queen by Philippa Gregory and The Power by Rhonda Byrne. Rhonda Byrnes previous title The Secret also charts in the non-fiction hardback list at No.2. Both top titles sold significantly more than the rest of the chart and are published in a week when new figures show Simon & Schuster UK to be achieving record sales growth year on year.

Kerr MacRae, Executive Director of Simon & Schuster, said,

'We are delighted to be top of both hardback lists this week - a first for S&S UK and all on the back of a year of record sales growth so far with latest numbers putting us 19.5% ahead on the TCM. Philippa Gregory is a truly great author who has the ability to become one of, if not, the biggest selling authors in the UK very quickly. Rhonda Byrne's The Power is also a unique publishing event coming on the back of the phenomenal success of the The Secret. Rhonda has defied the market yet again and produced a book that appeals across the spectrum and delivers very healthy sales in what is traditionally a slow, pre-Christmas period'
