Bertelsmann Raises Full-year ForecastPosted at 7:06AM Tuesday 31 Aug 2010 The Guetersloh, Germany-based company said net profit for the six months ended June 30 was €170 million ($215.305 million) compared with a net loss of €368 million in the same period a year earlier, when it was weighed by impairment charges, mainly at its majority owned broadcaster RTL Group SA.Bertelsmann said its growth was mainly fuelled by advertising-driven divisions RTL Group and publisher Gruner + Jahr, as well as by Random House, where the U.S. business and digital activities had shown particularly positive development.
