Press Release: Miscellaneous Announcements
New Chair For Publishing Scotland

Posted at 4:07PM Tuesday 31 Aug 2010

We are delighted to announce that Caroline Gorham of Canongate is the new chair of Publishing Scotland. She has taken over from Dr Keith Whittles, of Whittles Publishing in Caithness, who finished his three-year term in August.

Caroline Gorham has been in the publishing industry for 20 years. She was the Production Director of Simon & Schuster before working for the Glasgow printer, Caledonian. She is currently Production Director of Canongate Books where she has been on the Board since 2002.

Publishing Scotland is the network, trade and development body for the book publishing industry in Scotland. Established in 1974 as the Scottish Publishers Association, it is governed by the main board of directors, drawn from the membership, and the Publishers Advisory Committee.

Partly funded by Creative Scotland, the organisation was pleased to have a recent renewal of its funding until 2013.

For further information, contact Joan Lyle at Publishing Scotland on 0131 228 6866, joan@publishingscotland.org.
