Birmingham City Council Spends £187m On New Library - And Cuts Book FundPosted at 7:22AM Thursday 02 Sep 2010 Cash-Strapped Birmingham City Council has cut its book-buying fund – as it spends £187 million on a showpiece library. The £200,000 saving, from the £1.3 million Central Library book-buying fund, was part of a £5.4 million cuts package.
