Faber & Faber Announces Faber Factory

UNIQUE ONE STOP DIGITAL SERVICE FOR INDEPENDENT PUBLISHERS
Faber and Faber is delighted to announce the launch of Faber Factory - a fully comprehensive digital service to enable independent publishers to have an immediate and cost effective digital publishing programme without having to invest in additional resource and add to their overhead.
Faber Factory builds on Faber and Faber's unique position in the independent sector and track record in building successful partnerships with independent publishers such as the Independent Alliance. Faber also has a vibrant ebook programme of front and backlist title and was cited in The Bookseller as one of two publishers dominating ebook sales.
Faber Factory is a unique digital service by a publisher for publishers that offers:
* Text digitisation: file conversion, management and distribution
* Excellent relationships with a wide range of etailers and aggregators around the world
* Free storage
* Expert and comprehensive sales reporting
The business will launch in October 2010 with publishers worth GBP50,000,000 in turnover in its first year. There are already 18 publishers signed up to the service: Accent Press, Allison & Busby, Anthem Press, Aurum, Beautiful Books, Constable & Robinson, Crown House, Elliott & Thompson, Flare, Gallic, Gibson Square, Loose Chippings, Nick Hern, No Exit, Old Street, Quiller, Short Books and Templar.
Faber have worked closely with Infogrid Pacfic (IGP) in developing a distribution management system for the independent publishing community. IGP are a leading publisher technology company focused on content management and distribution, based in Pune, India.
The Faber Factory Team includes Nigel Marsh, Director of Publishing Services and Will Atkinson, Sales and Marketing Director. Faber is delighted to announce that Simon Blacklock has been appointed Head of Factory Sales. Simon Blacklock has considerable experience in the industry and has previously held senior positions at Waterstone's and Ottakars as Range Director and Supply Chain Director respectively.
