Book-publishing Free Zone To Be Set Up In Sharjah

Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed, Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the construction of a book-publishing free zone in the emirate, according to the state news agency Wam, "to promote reading and the digital and traditional publishing industry towards a knowledge-based community".

The private equity firm Shamrock Capital Advisors has acquired audiobook publisher Recorded Books from Wasserstein & Co. for an undisclosed price. Shamrock was the under-bidder when Wasserstein bought Recorded Books in January 2014.
