Osprey Publishing Hires Allison Hollett As US Vice President Sales And Marketing

Posted at 3:17PM Thursday 15 Nov 2012

Osprey Publishing, a leading publisher of illustrated military history, renowned for producing niche titles for the enthusiast audience for over 40 years, has hired Allison Hollett as its US Vice President Sales and Marketing. Hollett will develop and manage all aspects of Osprey's North American publicity program, whilst expanding current and introducing new sales channels within the business. She is stepping into the role previously held by John Tintera, who will now oversee the US sales and publicity for Osprey Group's recent acquisition, Watkins Publishing.

Hollett begins her new role in mid-November. She will work closely with the sales teams at Random House, who currently distribute all Osprey books within North America, with a particular focus on Osprey's range of hardback and paperback titles aimed at the wider history audience, which have grown Osprey's market share significantly over the last five years.

"The Osprey brand is already established within the military history enthusiast community," Hollett commented, "and there is room for expansion outside of this primary demographic. Osprey have already expanded into producing table-top gaming products, a strong digital program, and are now looking to apply the Osprey style and format to new sub-genres, making it an exciting time to join a forward-thinking innovative company."

Osprey Publishing MD Richard Sullivan added, "We are extremely pleased to have Allison join our team in the US and are looking forward to her ongoing input into our future plans. The North American market is becoming increasingly important to Osprey, and with our expanded US sales and marketing team in place we are confident that we can achieve the brand penetration that we are aiming for over the next couple of years."

Hollett has had considerable experience in the publishing industry, with previous positions at The Taunton Press, Bantam Doubleday Dell, Arcade Publishing, and Little, Brown. She will be based at Osprey's New York City office.
