Amanda Lohrey Has Won The Patrick White Literary Award

Posted at 8:31AM Monday 19 Nov 2012

Although Patrick White had no time for organised religion, Amanda Lohrey thinks he would approve of the novel she is writing, about a Sydney IT manager whose mid-life crisis leads to an unwanted religious conversion.

'He was our only metaphysical writer,' says Lohrey, the winner of the $23,000 Patrick White Literary Award, set up by the Nobel laureate with the proceeds of his 1973 prize.
