The Random House Group Appoints Aslan Byrne As Cornerstone Sales Director

The Random House Group has appointed Aslan Byrne, currently UK and International Sales Director at Headline Publishing Group, as Cornerstone Sales Director.Aslan, who has twelve years' industry experience, will take up his new role on 4th March 2013 and report to Ed Christie, Deputy Group UK Sales Director. Aslan joined Hachette in 2006 as Key Account Manager for Hodder & Stoughton, having previously worked in sales and marketing for Transworld Publishers, Random House Children's Publishers (RHCP) and Harper Collins. Garry Prior, Group UK Sales Director, The Random House Group said: "I am delighted to welcome someone of Aslan's considerable energy, experience and calibre to the Group. He will be a terrific addition to the wider UK Sales operation and a great fit with Cornerstone and our authors." Aslan Byrne added: "While I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Headline, the opportunity to join Cornerstone and return to Random House at such an exciting time was too good to pass up. Cornerstone is a powerhouse of commercial publishing, as proven by this record-breaking year, and I look forward to working with them and delivering their fantastic list to the widest possible audience. Aslan will replace Rob Waddington who has been promoted to the newly created role of Deputy Group Sales Director, International.
