Turnaround To Distribute Text Classics In The Uk

Posted at 10:12PM Wednesday 16 Jan 2013

Turnaround is delighted to announce that it has reached an agreement with Melbourne-based Text Publishing, one of Australia's most influential and internationally active publishers, to distribute their Text Classics series in the UK. The Text Classics now include almost 50 titles and span more than two centuries of writing. Many of these books are lost and forgotten gems which include Elizabeth Harrower's astonishing The Watch Tower, Kenneth Cook's Wake In Fright, Watkin Tench's 1788 and Gerald Murnane's incomparable The Plains.

Each Text Classic features a new introduction, often by a well-known writer, and the entire series has been designed by Text's founding designer Chong Weng Ho. Since it was launched in Australia the series has generated significant debate and has taken on an iconic status, unearthing lost marvels of literature and allowing readers to rediscover wonderful books.

Michael Heyward, publisher at Text, said: "The Text Classics are a response to an urgent need to put some of the most thrilling books ever written in Australia and New Zealand back into print. We are delighted the series is coming to the UK thanks to Bill Godber and his team at Turnaround."

Bill Godber, MD of Turnaround Publisher Services, added "Text's publishing profile is internationally respected and we're extremely pleased to be selling and distributing their Classics list. Later this year I hope we'll be able to further the relationship and start handling some of the titles from their general list as well."
