Big translation-prize day in UKPosted at 12:12PM Sunday 03 Feb 2013 Monday is the big translation-prize day in the UK, as they hold the Sebald Lecture — 'Paradise Lost: Confessions of an Apostate Translator' by Boris Akunin — and hand out a whole bunch of (well, eight) translation prizes, from the recently announced Saif Ghobash-Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation and the usual annual prizes for translations from the French, German, and Spanish, to four of the less frequently awarded prizes, for works translated from Modern Greek, Italian, Portuguese, and Swedish.
