Goodreads recently asked 1,000 members of the social network publishing's burning question: What convinced you to read the book?

They revealed the results at the Tools of Change (TOC) conference. Overwhelmingly, most readers relied on real life conversations: "trusted friend," "everybody was talking about it" and "book club" were the top answers.
