HarperFiction Launches HarperImpulse, A Digital First Women's Fiction List

Posted at 3:55PM Monday 15 Apr 2013

London, Monday 15th April 2013:

HarperFiction is delighted to announce the launch in May of HarperImpulse, a digital first imprint that will publish women's romantic fiction. HarperImpulse's aim is to find, publish and break new talent from debut authors, and import the hottest trends from the US. HarperImpulse will cover women's fiction ranging from new adult and erotic fiction, contemporary, historical and paranormal romance and aims to appeal to women who read everything from big summer bonkbusters to the hot new adult trends.

HarperImpulse is offering authors the chance to submit un-agented manuscripts for digital first publication on the list. It is looking for a wide range of submissions from short reads to epic sagas and has already received nearly 500 manuscripts in less than a month and has three acquisition deals in the works.

HarperImpulse hopes to mirror the success of our sister company, AvonImpulse in the US, who have already published three New York Times Top 10 bestsellers. Publications will be fully supported by the HarperFiction Marketing, Publicity and Sales teams, with dedicated HarperImpulse social media channels already launched. The Editorial team will also be offering writing workshops and events to give authors a diverse publishing experience.

The imprint will be launched by HarperFiction Publishing Director Kimberley Young, who worked as Editorial Director at Mills & Boon for 12 years and brings to the list a wealth of experience in romance and digital publishing. Charlotte Ledger, HarperImpulse Content Developer previously worked at Chawton House Library, formerly the home of Jane Austen's brother, and Mills & Boon, giving her the perfect training to work on a romance list.

Kimberley Young says:'Digital first publishing is about opening up new opportunities for writers and readers; whether that be playing with genres, experimenting with extent or reading and writing in different ways HarperImpulse is going to lead the way in daring to be different. We want to publish the very best in romance fiction.

We've got the love and we can't wait to share it!'
