Move Over Lit Idol

Posted at 7:01PM Monday 06 Sep 2004

Richard & Judy are moving into talent spotting for their latest book world wheeze. The most important people in the British book trade have launched a competition for which the first prize is publication by Pan Macmillan of the lucky winner's first novel - and a modest £50 000 advance into the bargain.

Entrants are invited to submit the first chapter of their novel and a 2-4 page synopsis outlining the rest of the story and additional characters and should not previously have been published. And publicity-shy scribblers need not apply - promotional appearances on the show and elsewhere are required.
