Orion Books To Publish Compound Interest The Curious Chemistry Of Food And Drink By Andy Brunning

Amanda Harris, Deputy Publisher, Orion Publishing Group has bought World rights for COMPOUND INTEREST by Andy Brunning, to be published as a hardback and eBook on 7 May 2015.

Ever wondered why asparagus makes your pee smell? Why onions make you cry? Why cooking bacon smells so amazing? Compound Interest will answer these questions and many more. Andy Brunning's forthcoming book will open up a whole new chemical world behind the weird sensations we experience through food and drink - drunkenness, brain freeze, spicy chillies and many more. Exploring aromas, flavours and taste sensations with beautiful infographics and in-depth explanations, Andy Brunning elaborates on all the questions we've never thought to answer properly before. Chemical breakdown has never been more fun.

Andy Brunning is a teacher at Bournemouth School and has a true passion for making chemistry exciting and interesting. Compound Interest is also the name of Andy's blog – as a graduate chemist and teacher in the UK he looks at the chemistry and chemical reaction we come across on a day-to-day basis. As well as highlighting these facets of chemistry, it is also the site's objective to provide interesting and educational infographics. His writing appeals to both general readers and to experts.
