Atlantic Books' CEO and publisher Toby Mundy has acquired world rights in Babylon and the Birth of Civilsation by Paul Kriwaczek, author of The Sunday Telegraph Book of the Year The Yiddish Civilization and The Search for Zarathustra, from Mandy Little. In a comprehensive history that takes in culture, politics, and science, Kriwazcek reveals a true Atlantis: a culture that really was ancestral to western civilisation and that really did disappear. Journalist Wendell Steavenson, author of the acclaimed Stories I Stole, returns to Atlantic with The Weight Of A Mustard Seed: The Intimate Life Of A Family During Thirty Years Of Tyranny a memoir-cum-reportage of the author's several years with the family of a high-ranking Iraqi general. Atlantic will publish in February 2009. The deal was for world rights ex US, through Janklow & Nesbit.
