Book ATMs Not Yet A Threat To PrintersPosted at 7:07AM Friday 17 Oct 2008 The printing industry is so far unconcerned about the arrival in Australia of the so-called 'ATM for books' - a machine which prints, trims and binds a paperback book on demand in around ten minutes.Book retailer Angus and Robertson unveiled the Espresso Book Machine (EBM) at its Bourke Street store in Melbourne last month, saying that the machine would also be rolled out in 50 of its stores across Australia, with the technology geared towards enabling customers to find rare or out-of-print titles.
