A CompletelyNovel Way To Launch A Writing Career

Posted at 9:30AM Monday 16 Feb 2009

CompletelyNovel.com, a groundbreaking web platform, has launched today, bringing a whole new level of collaboration to the book publishing industry. The website is a unique social network of readers and writers integrated with printers, literary agents and publishers to bring the publishing process into the world of web 2.0. The Random House Group, Faber & Faber and Icon Books have been amongst the first publishers to sign up for profiles on CompletelyNovel.

Through CompletelyNovel new and unpublished writers can now upload manuscripts and instantly tap into a vibrant book-loving community of readers, establishing almost immediately whether their work is marketable. These writers can publish straight into paperback format through print-on-demand printers also on the site.

CompletelyNovel keeps readers entertained with book reviews, discussions to join and debate, and author information. This is alongside the opportunity to read all the self-published works online for free or purchase the paperback directly from the writer.

CompletelyNovel have built their website to enable any digital printer, anywhere in the world to join the community. CPI UK is the first print-on-demand provider to sign up:

"CompletelyNovel.com not only makes print-on-demand accessible to everybody, it also gives aspiring writers the tools they need to give their book the best possible chance of success." said Jonathan Huddart, Senior Sales Manager of CPI UK

Publishers are a key part of CompletelyNovel. A profile on the website enables them to promote their books and engage directly with a network of potential customers, keen to find their next read:

"The Random House Group is at the vanguard of digital developments in the publishing industry and we support any initiatives which tap into new markets to promote the joy of reading and develop new and emerging talent." said Ros Lawler, Head of E-Commerce, The Random House Group Digital.

Publishers and agents can also find new writing talent through the website, using the community to crowd-source the best work.

"We are always proactively seeking contemporary and edgy writers to approach. CompletelyNovel is an innovative website that provides an easy meeting point between agents and talented authors," said Sallyanne Sweeney, Agent at Watson, Little Ltd

CompletelyNovel is all about improving the publishing experience through collaboration, communication and technology, with a healthy dose of community fun.
