Press Release: Deals Done
Book Deal For Amazing Memoir Of Transgender

Posted at 10:52PM Tuesday 02 Feb 2010

Prizeman & Kinsella, the literary agents, are delighted to announce that we have just sold the Irish rights (32 counties) to the amazing memoir of Ireland's first transgender, to Poolbeg Press. This amazing story, His Name Is Rebecca, gives us a remarkable insight into the hell any transgender goes through before they finally accept that they are living in the wrong body. It tells of the battle to then be accepted for a sex change, how part of that battle led to Rebecca (formerly Ross) becoming a high class hooker, how she became consumed by drug and alcohol abuse, became involved in at least two abusive relationships with men, found one husband dead in the bed beside her from a drug overdose and was then a suspect in what police thought was a murder investigation, how she attempted suicide on a number of occassions and how she has dealt with fatherhood/motherhood (in that order). She is now a very happy grandmother and has just opened up her own model agency in Dublin. This book is like nothing you have read before. We are now selling the world rights to this awe inspiring story and also looking at options for film/drama.
