Waterstones Recommends Novel Full Of Expletives, Sex And Violence For Children As Young As EightPosted at 10:06AM Sunday 07 Feb 2010 Waterstones has recommended a novel full of expletives, sex and violence for children as young as eight. Sawbones, a thriller by the Scottish crime writer Stuart MacBride, was chosen by the retailer in a children's catalogue as suitable for 'reluctant, struggling or dyslexic readers aged 8+'.This weekend Waterstone's admitted that it had made a 'terrible mistake' after it was contacted by The Sunday Times on behalf of a concerned parent. It said it would immediately recall all copies of the children's catalogue.
