'Spoon-fed' Teenagers Failing To Read BooksPosted at 6:58AM Monday 08 Mar 2010 Teenagers are increasingly relying on a small number of textbooks scripted by exam boards to pass tests instead of using a wide variety of sources, it was claimed.John Dunford, general secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders, said it helped maximise results and boost schools' positions in league tables at the expense of a proper understanding of key subjects.
