Harriet Wilson To Join HarperCollins Children's Books

London, 8th March 2010:Harriet Wilson is to join HarperCollins Children's Books as Editorial Director, reporting to Fiction Publishing Director, Rachel Denwood. Working alongside Editorial Director Nick Lake, Harriet will commission and develop authors and series across the fiction list with a particular focus at the younger end. Nick's commissioning focus will be on older fiction, teen and YA. Harriet began her career in children's publishing at Random House Children's Books in 2000. She then moved to a senior editorial role at Macmillan before returning to Random House in 2008 to oversee The Bodley Head list. During her ten years in publishing she has worked with many bestselling and award-winning authors such as Joseph Delaney, Jonathan Stroud and Malorie Blackman. Harriet takes up the Editorial Director post with immediate effect. Rachel Denwood said "Harriet brings with her a wealth of experience and she is an editor whose creativity, good judgement and excellence of author-care I have long admired.
